AccordionFest is an annual all accordion extravaganza sponsored by 21 Grand (which is not at 21 Grand, but a few blocks away at 416 25th x Broadway) This year, the Tom Waits Ensemble and the Accordion Works Trio will be performing at the AccordionFest on Saturday August 6th alongside other accordion acts: Esmerelda Strange the Mad Maggies. Esmerelda Strange describes her music as an eclectic blend of Eastern European, Latin American, Urban Folk, Punk Rock, Rockabilly, and Klezmer music. The Mad Maggies are an 8-person accordion, saxaphone, trompet, tuba, guitar and percussion band, and identify their music as world-inspired eclectic or "power folk."

You can also check out their websites:

The fun begins at 8:00 @ 21 Grand $5 - $10 sliding scale admissions.
I don’t know when all the acts are on, but Accordion Works (playing music by Guy Klusevsek) will be on at about 8:45 followed by the Tom Waits Ensemble at 9:10.
