Getting Started

My father was an accordian player a long time ago. I love the sound and energy it adds to a song. I've been thinking about learning how to play. What is the best accordian for a beginner?

As a kid, I started with a 12 button piano accordion... then I went to a 120.... you might want to consider that.

Start small. Piano accordions come with a wide range of base buttons, from 8 or 12 to 48 or 80. I'd say start small, then upgrade as you go along. Good luck!!!

If you are familiar with a piano, and are willing to make stuff up, then it doesn't matter where you start.
My first accordion was the biggest one I've ever seen, but now I've got something a bit smaller.

      I really like my Titano.

Some people refer to the smaller size that I play as a "woman's" size... or a stroller size.

It's smaller, weighs a lot less then my full size accordion, has a full keyboard. I find that it's a lot easier to get around with.

Still has a great sound too.
